/ world today news/ Iliyana Yotova expressed the opinion that Bulgarian MEPs can achieve more for Bulgaria if they all work together for the goals of our country. “Unfortunately, the behavior of my colleagues from GERB, and sometimes also of those of our other representatives in the EP, is not always like that.
It seems to me that voting on command so as not to “piss off” one’s political group is a display of weakness. To take action against Bulgarian interests is national treason, and I don’t understand why some people are inclined to do it.”
Yotova commented on a wide range of European topics, to which the residents of the villages of Kramolin, Agatovo, Malki Varshets and Gradishte showed great interest. Youth unemployment, horizontal EC funding programs as well as new structural programs were a small part of the topics discussed. “Socialists in the European Parliament are also fighting for the creation of a European minimum wage, which will be equal to 60% of the national average. The factors that will be used to calculate it, including inflation, are objective and fair.”
“Every day we witness all sorts of speculations, behind-the-scenes games and manipulations. But what is scarier than the populist clichés used by the new political projects is when “own” becomes “foreign”. When you have worked for and with some people for so many years, and they decide to leave the party in the most important elections, both for Europe and for Bulgaria, without giving any reasonable explanation, the disappointment is huge” – said Yotova , in response to a question about the actions of Georgi Parvanov and ABV. “The very fact that we only talk about the BSP as the party, and for the others we use the word projects, is indicative. The shelf life of this project will not be long either – it will end after the upcoming European elections. “ABV strives to present the victory to GERB, for new designs and political combinations after the elections. I don’t want to admit that votes are being bought for that.”
“Europe, as it is now, cannot inspire almost anyone. In recent years, the European Commission has undertaken a number of unfair reforms that have damaged both the social benefits of European citizens and the development opportunities of small and medium-sized businesses. We have nothing against the banks whose profits Europe protected, but Europe must help everyone,” Iliyana Yotova told the residents of the town of Tryavna.
