“We reopen for security.” This is the name of the ambitious project aimed at the whole Veneto region and which starts from the Traders Association of the center of Padua, chaired by Massimiliano Pellizzari, which has the aim of giving a breath of fresh air to the activities and making people return to relive an almost normalcy, but also to become a real prevention tool.
“The big advantage we have today over the first wave is the ability to use rapid tests. The idea is to give the opportunity to those who undergo this type of test to go to a restaurant the same evening, for example, ”explains Massimiliano Pellizzari.
The proposal
In practice, the project would develop by setting up a large tent, like those of civil protection, in a point of each city, which in Padua could be Piazza Garibaldi or Piazza Insurrezione. Inside some health workers would carry out quick swabs. In case of negativity, a certificate would be issued with which you could go to the restaurant, or pizzeria, or bar, in case of positivity the procedure for reporting to the Local Health Authority and quarantine would be triggered.
«We would be able to leave as early as tomorrow morning. On Friday 11 we sent a letter to the president of the Zaia Region and to the president of the Conte Council. Obviously it would take the green light and some rules such as curfew and closing of bars and restaurants should be revised. But we hope that this innovative idea, which allows activities to resume in complete safety, will be taken into consideration and accepted ». Doctor Roberto Rondinelli, who would actually take part in the project, presented the initiative together with the Acc president.
Lo screening
«Activities so far seen as places of risk for the transmission of the virus become part of the active prevention of the territory. And then the meritorious aspect of the initiative is that we are going to find positive asymptomatic citizens », said Rondinelli. From the point of view of costs as regards the work of the sanitary workers, the ACC would bear the expense, while the price of the rapid tampons (about 5 euros) would support the citizen, only to have a discount from the restaurant where the same goes figure, or the Region itself if it endorses the project as an active prevention system. The quick save-trade swab service would initially be active in the 19-22 hours slot but it is not certain that it cannot be extended to other activities such as gyms, for example.
