We tested … Cheerleading!

For its 5th season, our meeting on the Sunday sports page, the section “We wet the jersey” is back. The principle is simple: put on sneakers and shorts to come and test a sport. This week, we tried our hand at cheerleading.

“We wet the jersey” goes out on the field to try out all sports and physical practices. The goal, to discover during a first approach a sport in the most playful way possible. History to give others the desire to learn …

And for this week, direction Dijon and its Cheerleaders club, the oldest in France, a very important discipline in the United States, particularly in universities. Every year, the world championships are held in Orlando, at Disney, and the Dijonnaises are invited to them.

We start with a little flexibility on the ground to relax the muscles, then we do a few choreographies by reproducing the movements on the ground. Then, we try our hand at the lifts, we take place in small groups of 5, we are placed at the back to support and ensure the flyer who flies into the air and that we have to recover in our arms.

A routine, the cheerleader movement, lasts about two and a half minutes and we do these jumps, dance and other movements.
