‘We should not problematize drill rapps,’ supervision ‘can help with this …’ – The Daily Standard

Drillraps, ever heard of? Those are rap songs on very bad monotonous beats that glorify violence. In the big cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, the debatable taste of music is therefore an increasing problem. According to the Amsterdam political rulers, we should not be too difficult about that…

‘Just put a youth worker on it’, that is what the left-wing city council of Amsterdam actually wants to say about this. According to AT5 the city council is now investigating who the producers of drillraps really are. Hopefully they have the thistle tea ready to chat with these (mostly) criminals in the making.

To the concerned questions of the local party of the PvdA and the ChristenUnie, the Amsterdam college of mayors and aldermen answered coolly: “We want to prevent the music movement as a whole from being criminalized.”

Freedom of expression and artistic. Completely understandable. But does this also include the glorification of violence?

Anyway, judge for yourself:
