We shifted the CT deadlines and introduced a minimum score for target participants. Lukashenko approved new rules for admission to universities and colleges

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved new rules for admitting students to higher and secondary specialized educational institutions. The Presidential Administration announced the signing of the corresponding decree on the evening of January 5.

The text of the presidential decree has not yet been published on the National Legal Internet Portal, but the Administration toldthat its provisions are “aimed at increasing the objectivity of assessing the knowledge of applicants”, and are also intended to “streamline the selection” of students for targeted training and strengthen the “competitive component when enrolling the most prepared and motivated young people.”

Thus, the registration deadlines for centralized testing (CT) have been shifted to April 9 – 22, and target students were given the opportunity to apply through a competition among individual organizations that ordered personnel (in the absence of competition in their specialty) and a minimum average certificate score was introduced for them. It should be at least 7with the exception of “the specialties most in demand by the economy.”

For such “specialties that are most in demand by the economy,” additional benefits were introduced for admission to regional universities. The President instructed the government to determine a specific list of specialized classes and specialties that graduates of such classes can enroll on preferential terms.

The Ministry of Education was instructed to promptly “provide a set of organizational and methodological measures to implement the provisions of the Decree” and carry out “explanatory work” with applicants and their parents.

The department itself has already opened a special telephone line, by contacting which they promised to provide additional information on the innovations. You can call from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 12:00, by phone:

+375 17 200 62 72

In addition, the Ministry of Education reportedthat for clarification you can contact the universities themselves directly by calling the numbers listed on their official websites.

Telegraf previously reported that the Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets at the end of December 2023 said that his department would “unify approaches for graduates of this year and previous years, so that everyone is in equal conditions” and “will conduct the CE and CT in the same time frame.”
