In a new chapter of PM Economic Agenda We spoke with Matías Spagui, director of Mercado Pago, about the loans that the platform will offer to micro, small and medium-sized companies. “Any entrepreneur who works selling in Mercado Libre or occupies Mercado Pago and has three months of history with $15,000 in sales will be eligible for a loan,” Spagui explained when asked about the requirements to access financing. In this sense, the director of the collection platform pointed out that the objective of lending amounts is to “democratize access to services such as electronic commerce, but also to financial services and payments.” Lastly, Spagui pointed out that “despite the fact that Chile enjoys healthier indicators than the rest of the region, the opportunity continues to be tremendous and it will be a product that is very well received by Chilean entrepreneurs.”
