The accession of Bulgaria to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is extremely important for the development of the agricultural sector in our country. This was said by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Takhov during a hearing at the OECD Agriculture Committee in Paris, as part of the negotiation process for our country’s accession to the Organization.
After the discussion with the member states of the OECD, the Secretariat of the Committee on Agriculture and the representatives of the EC, Minister Takhov and his team were congratulated for the large volume of quality work.
During his visit, Minister Tahov also held a meeting with the director of the Directorate “Trade and Agriculture” in the OECD, Mrs. Marion Jansen.
As part of the “Agricultural Week” of the OECD, a Global Forum on Agriculture was also held on the topic: “Directing policies towards sustainable agricultural productivity”, in which the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Lozana Vasileva took part. The applied policies for sustainable agricultural productivity were discussed, as were the policies related to innovation and their promotion in the agricultural sector.
