Yannick Chenevard, first deputy mayor of Toulon in the Var Hubert Falco, ex-LR passed in the macronist camp has just been elected to the National Assembly at 62 years old.
In the 1st constituencywhich encompasses a large part of Toulon, the city’s first deputy Yannick Chenevard (ENS) came out on top, with 53.49% of the votes cast. The candidate of the National Rally, Amaury Navarrene won 46.51% of the vote.
He is the only non-RN deputy from the Var.
In his message of thanks to voters he did not fail to point out the symbol of his victory:
Thanks to you, Toulon once again rejects the extreme right in our city. We have suffered enough from their presence from 1995 to 2001, the Toulonnais have memories. With you, we pushed them back here in Toulon.

Close to Hubert Falco, he is 1st Deputy Mayor of Toulon, former President of the French Civil Protection (he was Civil Protection volunteer from the age of 15.) and Vice-President of the Var departmental council.
The mayor of Toulon did not hide his emotion this Sunday evening when he saw the significant push of the RN in his department:
I’m not beaten, but I’m not happy, I don’t understand how the left can vote for the National Rally. As I would not understand how mine could do it. I know where I come from. It is the fight of my life the extremes… If Zemmour or the RN had been in power in 1954, my dad would not have been naturalized. This is why I fight!
Hubert Falco, presidential majority Together!
He will now have to give up a number of his local mandates, in the name of non-cumulation of mandates. Until now he was first deputy in Toulon, in particular in charge of civil security or sustainable mobility, vice-president of the Toulon-Provence-Mediterranean metropolis, and vice-president of the Var departmental council. Born in Toulon, reserve lieutenant colonel, Yannick Chenevard was President of the French Civil Protection from 2009 to 2012.
Ex-LR, he passed under the banner of the presidential majority, like Hubert Falco, facing a far right traditionally well established locally and at the head of Toulon in the 90s.
For these legislative elections, exit the label Les Républicains. A choice also made by outgoing MP Geneviève Levy, 74. After 20 years and four terms as a deputy, she intends to remain in the political game and will be her deputy for
this mandate.
