Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Amgad El-Wakeel, Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plant Authority, today witnessed the concrete pouring activities for the second nuclear reactor of the nuclear power plant of Dabaa.

1- Put the first reactor number one into operation in 2028.
2- The second reactor in 2029.
3- The third reactor in 2030.
4- The fourth reactor in 2031.
It is worth noting that the Dabaa Power Plant is the first nuclear power plant of its kind in Egypt, which will be built in the town of Dabaa in Matrouh Governorate on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, about 130 km northwest of Cairo.
The nuclear power plant has 4 power units with a capacity of 1200 MW each, installed with more than 1200 VVER reactors (water-cooled power reactors), and the construction of the nuclear power plant is carried out in accordance with the joint agreement entered into force on November 19, 2015 and signed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
