According to the company, the capacity is sufficient, but admits that when the Z-BOX is full, shipments are automatically redirected elsewhere.
The enthusiasm of the inhabitants of the approximately seven-hundred-year-old village of Pernarec, northwest of Pilsen, aroused the establishment of the Z-BOX of the company Zásilkovna, in which they could choose consignments transported by this company. But their joy did not last long, problems soon arose.
“Z-BOX has been operating in our village for about a month, since then packages to Z-BOX cannot be ordered. Packages are lost, delivered to the ‘nearest’ delivery points or remain at the dispatch depot, from where they simply do not get anywhere. “There are more people whose packages have been lost or replaced,” described the resident of the village, Soňa Roučková.
Two lost packages
Mrs. Pavlína also had problems with Z-BOX. “I ordered a Z-BOX package in June, I was told I would be able to pick it up in three days. Redirection without agreement

According to Sona Roučková, the problems arose mainly in connection with the reconstruction of the road in the village. “Pernarec is not completely accessible, but the detour runs around the Z-BOX. Everything was fine at first, but then no one could order to the Z-BOX, it reported that it was full. But the acquaintance works in Jednota next to the Z-BOX and she knew that the cars of the Mailbox were not driving there and no one was even picking up the packages, “she said.
Statement of the Mail Order
According to Zásilkovna, Z-BOX has been in operation in the village of Pernarec since 31 May this year. By mid-September, our customers had collected over 150 shipments from it. “Its current occupancy is around 20 percent, so the capacity is sufficient. If the Z-BOX is full, the shipment is automatically redirected to the nearest dispensing point,” said Kamil Chalupa, a spokesman for Zásilkovny.
The mailroom has a total of about 1,300 Z-BOXes throughout the Czech Republic. The company stated that if the boxes are insufficient for a long time, it is trying to agree with the municipality on the creation of another or expansion of the existing one. “However, this case does not concern the Z-BOX in the village of Pernarec, where unfortunately several things met at one time, including street closures that significantly limit the operation of the Z-BOX during July this year,” added Chalupa.
“In these cases, customers mention time delays at depots, which are of course unacceptable for us, we have examined all these cases and we are working to ensure that time delays do not recur.
