The amphitheater of the new Little Island park was decked out with the rhythm of Mexican music.
After brief preparations and a short rehearsal, the public was able to enjoy the chords of the Mariachi Real de México in a free concert for all who were visiting the park.
“We are bringing live music, again, to the entire audience. It is something very important for us as human beings, we need this, we need life, we need joy, ”explained Ramón Ponce Jr., director of Mariachi Real de México.
Little Island is one of the new attractions in the city and for this summer it has prepared a series of free concerts for New Yorkers who visit the park.
Also during this summer season, Little Island will host other events, at moderate prices, where there will be: music, dance and even acrobats.
The protagonists who participate in these shows are local artists who are collaborating with Little Island to spread their music and contribute a little entertainment to the recovery of the city.
“Very grateful for this invitation. The ‘palomazo’ was very good, with great friends like Mario. As always, it is a pleasure to share music with you, finally on a stage open to all like Little Island. Very happy to be here. And the most special thing is that the city is alive and now it feels like it, ”said Alberto Villalobos, guest violinist.
The Mariachi Real de México also has a lot to celebrate, as it celebrates 30 years of bringing Mexican music to the stages of the Big Apple.
And on this occasion, Little Island audiences were able to witness the musical debut of a new generation of mariachis.
“Very good. We loved the repertoire, the songs that are well known and much loved by everyone. The truth is that we enjoyed it a lot, it was a very entertaining concert, very fun and we left there well on. We want more and that he lives Mexico! ”Said one of the attendees.
