“A regret: giving more skills to the regions”
• In the large regions: “The large regions aimed to save money. Today, with the pandemic, we see that spending has been higher, whether in the merged regions or not. What I wanted was to give them extra weight. Essentially, it is true that this is the only territory where the debate (on the demerger) exists. It would not be progress to go back to a previous situation. If I have any regret, what I haven’t done enough is the transfer of skills. There could have been others, following the yellow vests. We found an illustration of this during the pandemic. The regions could have done more if they had had the means. “

You have to be careful, maintaining the second round is 10% (of those registered) ”

“Re-instill a partisan spirit”
On participation: “We notice, and this is not encouraging, that many of our fellow citizens do not know how the state works. In these elections, we will perhaps see a high abstention rate, because of the remoteness of citizens, of the meaning of what elected officials do. Who knows what the Region is doing? When there is no longer participation, the legitimacy of elected officials is called into question. We saw it with the yellow vests. Afterwards, citizens must be able to challenge elected officials. The regret I have today is that the major parties have weakened. But we need it! They make it possible to build debates and programs. We will have to re-instill a partisan spirit. We can blame them for being weak, it’s not their fault. They have to come back to life. “
