We need a national policy to deal with poverty, the demographic catastrophe and the lack of security – 2024-09-18 13:49:16

/View.info/ An important task before us with Gen. Radev is the destiny of the Bulgarian village, the candidate for vice president pointed out

A common national policy is needed to solve the three priority problems facing our country – security, demographic catastrophe and poverty. This was stated by Iliana Yotova, candidate for vice president, nominated by the Initiative Committee and supported by BSP, during her meetings in Dobrichka region. She visited several villages and spoke to people in packed halls. “Except I want to tell you what we are offering with gen. Radev, I also want to hear your questions, positions, fears, hopes”, she addressed the residents of the village of Plachi dol. People complained about their low incomes, lack of care by the state to support their livelihoods, depopulation and lack of security.

“An important task before us with Gen. Radev is the fate of the Bulgarian village. And this is not only a problem of the North-West, but of the whole country. A national plan is needed for the salvation of the Bulgarian countryside. We have prepared. We are convinced that Bulgaria must develop high technologies and agriculture. Now we have a Motherland, but we don’t have a country. Without the assistance and support of the state in these difficult times, people cannot cope”, Iliana Yotova pointed out. According to her, for a region like Dobrudja, agriculture is of key importance, and at the same time, instead of helping the producers, the government interferes by worsening relations with Russia even more, where Bulgarian production could be realized. “The losses from the sanctions against Russia are over half a billion dollars, and Borisov literally days ago asked for more,” Yotova was indignant.

According to her, the primary task of the rulers should be the security of the border. Therefore, it remains unclear why, if there is a threat, at that of the second level, the current president does not convene the CSNC. “There is a refugee and migrant crisis. In this situation, Plevneliev is missing again, and tomorrow may be too late,” she warned.

In the village of Krushari, the candidate for vice president with number 13 on the ballot inspected the new club of the BSP at the symbolic address – 13 “Nine September” Street. “Our campaign is not only on the yellow pavements, it is not only in the media, it is with you, in the Bulgarian villages and cities”, said Iliana Yotova. According to her, if unity is achieved around the priorities for the development of the country and the politicians concentrate 10-15 years of efforts and resources for their implementation, we will succeed. “It is important to unite for a National Plan for the salvation of the Bulgarian countryside and depopulated regions. Today, every day, a Bulgarian village is being closed, villages thanks to which we have survived as a nation”, stressed Yotova. “With gen. Radev, we undertake this commitment not only for the campaign. This will also be our commitment tomorrow, when we enter Dondukov 2”, she added.

The residents of Krushari raised the question of why Tsetska Tsacheva is traveling around the country with security from the NSO and why Prime Minister Borisov is campaigning as prime minister for the GERB candidates. They expressed concern that the authorities, granted by a decree of the Council of Ministers shortly before the elections more than BGN 700,000 for the rehabilitation of streets in the municipality of Krushari, are trying to buy the elections. According to them, state funds are being spent short-sightedly – one and a half million were given for a swimming pool, which is closed, another 12 million BGN were spent on a road to the border, but it’s a road to nowhere – the Romanian checkpoint is on the other side. “This is buried money – at least the pool could be used by the children, and the road would lead somewhere”, people were outraged.

“Agriculture in Dobruja is latifundist. It is in the hands of 2-3 big owners. At the same time, one kilogram of sugar in Dobrich costs 1.50, and here, in Krushari, it costs 1.80. Come and see how people live here”, they complained to Iliana Yotova. “I don’t go with security, I’m not afraid. I took a leave for the campaign and I am not paid, but Mrs. Tsacheva is not on leave, she receives a salary! Pre-election giving of money to mixed municipalities, promises to teachers, doctors mean political corruption”, she answered. According to her, the consolidation of agricultural lands is a huge wound. “Much more money is given per unit of area, now also for the machines. Instead, we offer assistance to producers, not to tenants, assistance in the realization of the production”, pointed out Yotova and reminded that the proposals are recorded in the BSP program.

People expressed confidence that gen. Radev will cope with the task of being the head of state, because he has proven that he knows the problems of ordinary people. “This man has been flying in the skies all his life, but he is much more down-to-earth than many politicians”, noted the audience.

The meeting in Kaynardzha also took place with a full hall. Two-thirds of those present were teachers. They spoke frankly about the problems in their municipality – the widespread poverty and the attempted division on ethnic grounds. “It is shameful to try to buy in such an elementary way the most intelligent part of society. It’s humiliating,” said Iliyana Yotova regarding Borisov’s promises to raise teachers’ salaries. “This is planned to happen in 2017 at the earliest, and by then the prime minister will certainly find reasons not to do it,” she predicted .

And in Dulovo they face similar problems. “Here, for a large part of the children, the Bulgarian language is not their mother tongue. Our national security is threatened from within,” shared a teacher. In Dulovo, the candidate for vice president was given a task – to work on the protection of the rights of Bulgarians in Bessarabia, Moldova. Citizens expressed dissatisfaction with the position of “Dondukov” 2 on the problems of our diaspora there. “Getting Bulgarian citizenship for our compatriots is a mission impossible. They are subjected to humiliation, while Romania and Hungary have a completely different approach. We must change the attitude of the state towards them”, Dulov residents insisted. “We must fight fear. Let’s bring back democracy. I don’t remember my people being so scared and oppressed”, Iliyana Yotova admitted. “We need one victory to free our souls. Let’s make a new beginning for Bulgaria together”, she urged.
