The Minister of Budget and Public Accounts Gabriel Attal was a guest of the morning of Europe this Thursday. At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, the former government spokesman returned to the new bill on asylum and immigration, presented by Gérald Darmanin, and in particular on the possibility of granting residence permits to help trafficking in labor shortages.

“Kind to the good, bad to the bad”. This is what Gérald Darmanin wants to do with his new immigration bill. The Minister of the Interior also wants to promote the employment of immigrants in sectors with a shortage of labor, thanks to the new residence permits for sectors in tension. Guest of Europe 1 this Thursday morning, Gabriel Attal supports the project. “We must stop being hypocrites on the subject of illegal work”, assures Gabriel Attal.

For the Minister of the Budget, the idea of encouraging tense exchanges is relevant. “Part of our economy runs thanks to immigration”, he assures the microphone of Europa 1. “So I think these announcements are perhaps a breath of fresh air for the bosses”, who need these people “, continued the minister. .

“Being clearer” with people in an irregular situation

“I take this project as a minister,” he continues. Because the Minister of Budget and Public Accounts wants to fight a scourge: illegal work. “Today our public finances are losing between 5 and 6 billion euros due to illegal work”, he insists on the microphone of Europa 1. And to add: “We must get out of a form of hypocrisy around the moonlight (.. .) Yes, today there are people in France who work in the moonlight, we all know that. ”

But the former government spokesman announces it: we must be more firm on the issue of immigration. “Those who are not destined to stay in France must leave”, he insists, specifying that this bill “will also allow us to be clearer”, with people waiting for a residence permit or nationality.
