San José, Jan 25 (elmundo.cr) – The former president of the Republic, José María Figueres, stressed that “we must get much closer to Asia and particularly China.”
This was stated by the former president after he participated in “DAVOS AGENDA”, the global meeting of the World Economic Forum.
Figueres emphasized that it was inaugurated by President Xi Jingping of China with an extraordinary participation on four axes:
- We must coordinate economic policies to return to an inclusive global growth agenda. The G20 is the mechanism to achieve this.
- We need to abandon ideological prejudices, to unite and move towards a peaceful existence that advances a development agenda.
- We must close the gap between developing and developed nations, to bring well-living to all.
- We must join forces to combat the great global challenges. We have only one planet and we must carve out a secure and prosperous common future for humanity.
“Excellent presentation”, concluded Figueres.
