GIACARTA, kilat.com- Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a mosquito-borne disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, including Indonesia. Dengue fever is also still one of the diseases to keep under control in Indonesia.

Dengue fever is caused by one of the four types of the dengue virus. You cannot get this disease because you are close to infected people because this disease is transmitted through mosquito bites. Two mosquitoes that can transmit this virus are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.

And even being bitten by an Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopuctus mosquito can cause high fever and flu-like symptoms. It can also cause severe bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock), and even death

Therefore, currently, it is said that the distribution permit for the dengue fever vaccine, called Qdenga, which can be granted to people between the ages of 6 and 45, is said to already exist in Indonesia. And he’s already pocketed a distribution permit from BPOM.

The Qdenga vaccine is included in the Live Attenuated Tetravalent Dengue Vaccine (TDV) which consists of 4 strains of the dengue virus, i.e. the attenuated dengue serotype 2 (TDV-2), recombinant dengue serotype 2/1 (TDV-1) strain, and 2/3 recombinant dengue serotype strain (TDV-3) and 2/4 recombinant dengue serotype (TDV-4).

This vaccine is said to be able to prevent anyone from being exposed hemorrhagic fever up to 80.2 percent. This vaccine is believed to be able to prevent someone from having to undergo hospital treatment due to the 95.4% dengue virus.

Of course, this vaccine has side effects, such as fever, loss of appetite, drowsiness, swelling at the injection site, fatigue, body aches, headaches and redness. (ulf)
