Following the summer weather, Dreverna invites you to take a walk and discover the small architectural treasure hidden in the town.
2022-2023 The community of Dreverna, in order to make the town of Dreverna more attractive, participates in local project no. VAKA-AKVA-6.3.2.-8.1./63VS-PV22-03668-PR001 “Adaptation of small infrastructure, public spaces to the needs of fishermen and tourists in Dreverna”. You can already see the results of the project – you can try on “Fisherman’s boots” in the ethnographic homestead of the shipwright J. Giž, and Bangpūtys can be found near the town’s bus stop. The community of Dreverna is grateful to the creator, blacksmith Darius Vilis, for the artistic implementation of the project. The chairman of the community, Lina Strumylienė, says that, in addition to other activities, during the implementation of the project, educational activities were also conducted for schoolchildren.
The community of Dreverna, in cooperation with the Gargždai Regional Museum, has also created an educational route “Dreverna Sculpture Trails”. Even several boats, sculptures reflecting the life, history and inhabitants of Dreverna, each with its own history and meaning, await local residents and tourists. The educational route can be traveled using the flyer created during the project, which briefly describes each sculpture. Incarnated in sculptures, the visitors of Dreverna are awaited by the local inhabitants of Šišioniški, the little Kursi with his friend, the fisherman waiting for his husband to return from the lagoon, the fisherman with his deep – fishing luck.
A video was created about the project’s activities, which can be seen here https://youtu.be/0TPJ8FDLAGw .
The community of Dreverna is happy to share the results, which were helped to be achieved by the Fisheries local activity group, partners J. Giž ethnographic homestead (Gargžda regional museum branch), Priekulės senate. We invite you to visit Dreverna and get to know local history, culture and active community initiatives!
