The truly famous Daniil Strakhov woke up in 2003. The TV series “Poor Nastya” was released, in which the actor played Baron Korf, a negative hero at first, but over time gaining a reputation as a good person among the viewer. The picture was a success. 127 episodes of the film were broadcast in 34 countries. Two decades have passed since the premiere of Poor Nastya. On March 2, Daniel celebrates his 47th birthday.
“It’s a pity that not the best remains in people’s memory”
Today, the viewer also knows the actor as the performer of the role of Isaev in the spy film of the same name by Sergei Ursulyak, senior lieutenant Pankratov in Storm Gates, businessman Nesterov in the psychological detective story God Complex.
Daniel takes his profession very seriously. The hype and constant questions about “Poor Nastya” at a certain moment began to annoy Strakhov very much.
“The bad trail of seriality that trails behind me is so fed up that for me it’s like a red rag. It’s a pity that not the best thing you did remains in people’s memory, ”the actor was upset.
He was born in Moscow into a very intelligent family, which at the same time had nothing to do with theater or cinema. My father was a scientist – a philologist, and my mother was a psychotherapist, the creator of the author’s school of Gestalt therapy.
Parents never put pressure on their son in terms of choosing the main occupation in life. Daniel was interested in mathematics, literature and theater. Strakhov went to a drama club, attended the experimental School of Self-Determination. And finally made a choice.
“What can I compete with Vyacheslav Tikhonov?”
This thought haunted Daniil when he was offered the main role in the TV series Isaev. “Then I realized that such an offer would not be received a second time, and I killed all doubts in myself. I became an artist thanks to Vyacheslav Tikhonov. I really loved and love the film “Seventeen Moments of Spring,” the actor admitted.
Of course, choosing the theatrical, Strakhov did not know his future in detail. Parents, convinced of the seriousness of their son’s intentions, hired a tutor for him – a professional actor. First, Daniil studied at the Moscow Art Theater School on a course with Vanguard Leontiev, and then transferred to the Shchukin School.
He made his film debut as a student. He tried himself on the stage of several theaters, today he serves on Malaya Bronnaya. Among the stage roles played are Dorian Gray, Caligula, Khlestakov, Macbeth.
When it comes to the spectacular appearance of the actor, he answers directly: “What is, is. This is how he was born. For me, the concept of “male beauty” simply does not exist. Another thing is male charm. Think Jack Nicholson. A monkey is a monkey, but you can’t take your eyes off him!
“There was no money for flowers”
Daniel recalls this when journalists ask how he cared for his future wife. Strakhov met Maria Leonova back in Pike. Met, parted. The relationship in a couple really developed only when the actors began to serve together in the theater.
“If you pick buttercups in a flowerbed in front of the State Council, it’s already good,” the actor recalls the period of courtship. There was no wedding as such, the young people came to sign in jeans and sneakers.
This does not prevent Mary and Daniel from remaining a family to this day. True, they never became parents. Whatever rumors go around, the marriage of actors has been going on for the third decade.
True, Leonova and Strakhov now prefer not to meet on the same stage. Daniel explains it this way: “There is a danger of the so-called family theater, which has not bypassed any creative family. You need to understand: the more you work with your loved one, the less objective you are in working together. We haven’t played together in a long time.”
The couple built their own house, in which they hide from all adversity. “It is very important for us to maintain the exclusion zone, when we do not let anyone go beyond a certain border,” Daniil does not hide. The audience is about to see him in the title role in the new melodrama “Stewardess”.
