On Sunday, Slavia played the last preparatory match before the start of the season, beating Puskás Akademi 1:0. Assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký spoke about the wide squad, Moses Usor’s form and possible reinforcements.
Slavia took thirty-six players to the second training camp, while seven others were sold or sent on loan. Gradually, everyone except the injured Lukáš Masopust and Jan Bořil got into the game and fought for a place.
The Brazilian winger Ewerton, the newcomer from the B-team Moses Usor and the new stopper duo Aiham Ousou and Eduardo Santos made a big impression. At right back, the reinforcement from Mladá Boleslav David Douděra was not lost either.
“We have offers for guys who should go on loan, for example, it’s also in the air that some guys could transfer. Europe has only just begun, the first five leagues have only just started training. There are some signs, now something has come, so we are keeping the squad together for now.” said Houštecký for club website.
In the preparation, the Sišivas gradually drew with the Greek champion Olympiakos Piraeus 1:1, then defeated the Romanian Rapid Bucharest 7:1, and in the warm-up for the new year they also defeated the Hungarian Puskás Akademia 1:0.
The attention of the fans is paid especially to the already mentioned wings Ewerton and Usor. The second mentioned swept the back gallows with his left foot against both Rapid and Puskás and appears to be an excellent choice on the right wing. Although he is only twenty years old.
“We have a lot of quality players available here, everyone is fighting for the starting line-up. In defense, there is speculation about Isak Hien from the Swedish Djurgarden, on the other hand, the pair of Santos – Ousou appears to be reliable and Jindřich Trpišovský et al. they consider that they will no longer reach into the defensive line at all. “A lot has been written about it. If someone should come, we won’t say no, and if they don’t, we won’t be mad about it. We have great quality at that post.
