The bright blue Honda Civic Type R literally burst in two after a horrific accident in Denver, USA. The video shared on Facebook shows the Civic Type R in two parts next to a fast food restaurant. How did such a serious accident happen?

Honda for scrap

The whole incident was commented on by the car’s driver and the owner’s mother. Fortunately, no one is hurt, although Honda looks really disastrous.

According to Renee Gutierrez-Martinez, the Honda Civic Type R is owned by her daughter. However, her boyfriend, Kevin, was driving the car at that time. The latter claims that they were hit by an older man while driving through the intersection. The force of the impact was supposed to push the car against the lighting pole.

The impetus was so great that the car broke apart and slid onto the sidewalk. In the video taken after the accident, you can see that the Honda “cracked” just outside the rear door. If someone was riding in the back seat then, he could be seriously injured or even fail to get out of the car on his own.

They were very lucky

Likewise, if a Honda Civic were to hit a light pole at door height, the driver and her girlfriend could be seriously injured. Fortunately, they both emerged from the car on their own with only minor injuries. The driver who hit them was also not hurt.

The Honda has, of course, been scrapped and we hope it never comes back on the road. However, we will not be surprised if the car is up for auction soon – some of its parts, including the engine, can still be salvaged.
