Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim said face-to-face learning (PTM) must be done immediately so that students do not miss learning or learning loss.
Nadiem said that it was impossible to conduct distance learning until all students were vaccinated against Covid-19. According to him, completing the vaccination of all students will take up to 2.5 years.
“We will not be able to catch up. We have no option, we have to go to school in this virus condition. That is the reality,” Nadiem said in a working meeting with Commission X DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (23/8). ).
Nadiem said distance learning had a negative impact on students. Besides learning loss, many students experience psychological pressure because they have to study in different conditions.
In addition, Nadiem said many children experienced domestic violence (KDRT) while studying at home. He did not want the negative effects to continue to whack the students.
Nadiem said as many as 30 percent of schools had started to open earlier this year. However, all schools must return to holding online learning when the delta variant of the Corona virus spreads.
Currently, there are about 63 percent of the 540,979 schools that have been allowed to return to holding PTM. However, only 26 percent of schools do PTM.
“It’s been too long our child’s psychological state and cognitive learning loss our child is already too critical, we must open it as soon as possible with strict health protocols,” said Nadiem.
