We have always been part of Höngg

The common identity of the church district 10 should pick up speed after the pandemic

Organizationally, the Reformed Church of Oberengstringen has been part of the city of Zurich parish since 2019. According to Pastor Jens Naske, this has resulted in more work, but also given the church more human and financial resources.

The solidarity between Oberengstringen and Höngg is recorded on the parish hall in Oberengstringen, which was built in 1951, as Pastor Jens Naske shows.

Jens Naske points to the Höngger coat of arms, which was emblazoned next to the community coat of arms on the parish hall built in 1951 in Oberengstringen. He has been pastor in Oberengstringen for 15 years. At the beginning of 2019 he experienced the connection of the village to the newly founded parish of the city of Zurich. The merger was a logical consequence of the historical development, says Naske. “Oberengstringen has been part of the Höngger Church since the town was first mentioned.” It was not until 1977 that a separate Reformed parish was founded in the village, followed by its own church in 1984.
