They came from Brielle, South Holland, near Rotterdam. ‘We searched for two years, first as far as Zwolle’, says Ellen. ‘But the prices there also rose enormously, so we got higher and higher in the north and we eventually ended up in Bellingwolde. We had never heard of it, but thought it was so incredibly beautiful here. ‘This is it,’ we said to each other.’
