Invited on the set of “It begins today” this Friday, Alexandre Villeret, the son of Jacques Villeret, spoke of their common and difficult past. “We had a bit of the same story,” he declared.

Cabbage Soup, Grandpa Resists, The Stupid Dinner…Jacques Villeret was a huge actor, very respected in this industry. His comic side will have seduced the whole of France. But what you don’t necessarily know is that he had a rather difficult childhood. Which is not easily guessed, given the cheerfulness he exuded on screen (although he played more dramatic roles). His parents divorced when he was just nine months old, which severed all contact between him and his biological father. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather, Raymond Villeret.
A common point that he shared with his son Alexandresince he adopted it. “There are still the demons that inhabited him. We had a bit of the same story too… These things that perhaps built it“, told the latter to Faustine Bollaert on the set of It starts today this Friday, October 18. Before qualifying by highlighting a difference between their respective pasts: “He had a bit of the same story as me, who hadn’t known his father… And so he had fantasized, I didn’t at all because I had a father who was really good so I didn’t need to ‘looking elsewhere, perhaps he had that sadness.“
Jacques Villeret alcoholic and violent?
Alexandre Villeret therefore explains that he was not frustrated by the fact of not knowing his biological father, unlike Jacques Villeret, given that the latter was a very good father to him. “He was so much my father that it wasn’t a big deal either. What matters is what he meant to me and the love we had for each other.“Alexandre’s mother is Irina Tarassov. A woman from whom Jacques Villeret separated in 1998. She notably created a controversy by affirming that the actor was alcoholic and violent. Which was then denied by the sister of the deceased.
Finally, note that the legacy of the hero of Dinner for idiots was a source of conflict, his family having been pushed to give it up because of debts which he would not have paid off before his death.
