Tatar made a statement regarding the declaration of 3 days of national mourning for those who lost their lives in the attack on the hospital in Gaza. According to the information provided by the Presidency, Tatar included the following in his written statement:
“As a people who have experienced the same pain on the stage of history, we feel in our hearts the pain of the massacres in Palestine that are incompatible with humanity. There is no justification for killing innocent children and civilians.
As a result of our consultation with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, three days of national mourning have been declared by the decision of the Council of Ministers out of respect for those who lost their lives and to share the great pain experienced due to the massacre of thousands of innocent civilians, including children, in Palestine.
“While I commemorate those who lost their lives, I express my condolences to the grieving Palestinian people.”
