Some 18-year-olds but also adults over 20, 30 or 40 in good health were surprised to receive a summons this Friday evening to be vaccinated today at the Palais des Expositions in Nice.

Questioned, the Metropolis confirms. This is not a massive opening to people over 18 without a comorbidity factor, but a question of opportunity.

“On Thursday we were alerted that the president was going to open up new vaccination slots, especially for people over 18 considered to be heavy psychiatric cases, or having a body mass index greater than 30, or being immuno-depressed. finds that we had already started to vaccinate this public there since January. Including those who had depressed immune people in their families because we considered that it was necessary to reassure them and to protect everyone “, emphasizes Véronique Borré, director of the Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management Agency of the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area.

“As a result, we did not have an increase in the number of appointments for this weekend, but we had more doses.”

Friday evening, the choice was therefore made to “reward” those who have been registered for a very long time. First registered, first served. “We have chosen to do it in order of seniority, by small numbers, especially for people registered since December”, confirms Véronique Borré.

Be careful, if you have been summoned in this context, you will not be able to postpone the appointment, you must present yourself, failing to lose your dose and having to wait for your turn to return depending on your age group.

According to the Metropolis, this last minute vaccination represents only a few hundred people this Saturday.
