If you’re lamenting your worries about buying a Playstation 5, Xbox Series X / S, or Nvidia graphics card, know that you’re not alone in the mess: not only are millions of people doing it. ‘other potential customers, but in addition the shortage hurts others even more. Because if the general public has difficulty finding computers, consoles and other webcams at their feet, entire industries such as the automotive industry, suffer from this lack of electronic chips.
A shortage whose initial source is the pandemic, but which is amplified by three factors: the release of new generation chips and consoles, the poor anticipation of certain manufacturers (who canceled too many orders in 2020) and the fact that only two players (TSMC and Samsung) are able to produce advanced chips.
