“We have organized our whole life on external time, clock time. But we don’t just live in time, time also lives within us,” says Sitskoorn. He also sees that this causes problems. “Living in objective time brings us a lot, such as productivity. But there are also some disadvantages, such as the time pressure we always experience.”
Event time
Sitskoorn says there is also event time. “Time lasts while it lasts.” Especially for recovery, for example, it’s important to surrender to that moment of the event. You might think that you should only grieve for 3 days after losing someone, but it doesn’t work that way. It’s good to just take your time.
