We Don’t Need Mercenaries In The War Against …

BAKU – Azerbaijan claiming not to need mercenaries and having enough personnel, and reservists in its conflict against Armenia. This was expressed by Hikmet Hajiyev, an assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilkham Aliyev.

“We do not need personnel or mercenaries from other countries. Azerbaijan maintains its sovereign territory. Azerbaijan’s territory is under Armenian occupation,” said Hajiyev, as reported by Al Arabiya on Thursday (1/10/2020).

Regarding the Russian statement, Hajiyev said Moscow only expressed concern and never accused Baku of using mercenaries in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. (Also read: War with Azerbaijan, Armenia admits that it does not need foreign assistance)

“I want to correct, the Russian Foreign Ministry did not accuse Azerbaijan. The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed general concern that some terrorists were deployed to the Nagorno-Karabakh region,” he said.

“I also share Azerbaijan’s concern about the facts discussed in Azerbaijan, namely that the Armenian side has deployed mercenaries and terrorists from Middle Eastern countries to the Nagorno-Karabakh region to fight against Azerbaijan,” he said.
