His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, urged him not to pay attention to the rumors and lies that have spread about the fire of the Munira church in Imbaba.
His Holiness said in a telephone interview with the Evening DMC program today Monday: “What increases the pain is the spread of lies that are told by those who do not know or understand. sanctity of death and of the event, and we, as human beings, must heal wounds with good deeds and with words ».
The Pope added: “Unfortunately there are people who have caused evil by spreading lies, deceit, gloating and addressing negligence and accusations to people, and I, in the name of the Church, do not accept these things at all”.
His Holiness continued: “In crises, a person does not remain in his thoughts, except that he resolves the crisis and helps the person, but unfortunately many people try to create a crisis of trust and it is not in reality”.
The pope stressed that all the agencies concerned have joined forces to remove the effects of the accident and help the families of the victims and injured, sending a message to citizens: “Do not listen to the voices”.
