We didn’t expect Russian oil exports to be so resilient – EADaily – Oil. Export. Russia. News. Russian news. Export of oil. Export of oil from Russia. Oil export 2023. Oil export volume. Russian oil export.

Despite forecasts, Russian oil exports turned out to be stable. Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), told Reuters about this.

“Now Russian exports are declining,” Birol noted. In his opinion, raw materials from Russia will continue to be bought in Asia, especially in China and India.

For oil products, the situation looks more complicated, the head of the IEA believes: “I hope that this (ban on imports to the EU and the price ceiling) will not lead to a shortage of products on the market, especially diesel,” said the head of the IEA.

As Bloomberg reported, if in early January the export of Russian oil decreased, then last week it increased by 30% and reached the levels of April 2022.
