Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The general chairman of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association, Aman Bhakti Pulungan, was unstoppable during a meeting with Commission IX of the DPR. He regretted that the number of Covid-19 cases affecting children was increasing.
IDAI revealed that the Covid-19 testing cases were uneven.
“We want to cry,” said Aman, Monday (5/7/2021).
“Covid-19 testing is uneven. And children are rarely tested. This case of a child who died occurred because of late testing.”
IDAI data states, of all children who died more than 50% were toddlers. Some were born during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Until July 5, 2021, IDAI data revealed 140,877 cases of Covid-19 in children with confirmed deaths of up to 556 children.
He also highlighted that there would be disruption of health services for children because all hospitals were handling Covid-19. “Immunization is also disrupted. The health of this child may not be monitored by all dealing with COVID-19.”
