We better be prepared for viruses to become habitual

The director-general of Health, Graça Freitas, considered today that it is better for citizens to prepare themselves so that the new coronavirus does not disappear by itself and instead becomes habitual in people’s lives.

“It is better to be prepared for this virus to become habitual in our lives”, considered Graça Freitas today, speaking at the daily press conference to monitor the covid-19 pandemic.

Over time, “whether there is a vaccine or not”, it is expected that “human beings gain immunity and the virus becomes less aggressive”, however acknowledged the responsible.

“If we have a vaccine, the better. If not, we will have to live with the virus until we have natural immunity ”, said the Director-General of Health.

Portugal today records 1,218 deaths related to covid-19, 15 more than on Saturday, and 29,036 infected, 226 more, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today by the General Directorate of Health.

The second phase of deflation starts on Monday, maintaining the civic duty of recollection and with an extension of the state of public calamity.
