/ world today news/ The BSP leader personally supported the candidates for mayors of Kresna and Blagoevgrad.
“On this festive day – 103 years since the liberation of Gorna Jumaya, I want to strongly support our candidate for mayor of the municipality of Blagoevgrad, Milan Bogdanski, and our list of candidates for municipal councilors.” This was said by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, at a meeting with young people and candidates for municipal councilors and mayors of the left in Blagoevgrad.
Mikov noted that Milan Bogdanski is a person who has experience in local self-government, but also has the character to fight and defend people’s interests. According to him, the Blagoevgrad municipal council list of the BSP is one of the youngest in the regional cities of the country. “However, these young people are experienced, intelligent people and citizens of Blagoevgrad should support them mostly because of their personal qualities,” added the leader of the left.
Mikov was adamant that unlike political projects that are changed every few years in order to consume power, the BSP, as a real party, strives to realize, to form a representation of the majority of Bulgarian citizens and their interests. He added that in local elections the most important thing is to comment on the policies that the municipalities form for the benefit of the people. “The BSP has its platform and our candidates for mayors and municipal councilors have made a commitment to implement it for the benefit of the citizens,” noted the BSP chairman. He added that other political parties are full of unprincipled coalitions for the sake of power itself. “We will not participate in such coalitions, because power cannot be an end in itself,” he categorically stated. The leader of the socialists expressed hope that, despite the media’s coverage of people’s real lives, the election will be a time when candidates will present their platforms and consider the real possibilities of each municipality.
Milan Bogdanski promised to create conditions for cooperation between the municipality and the citizens.
“We have to break the shackles that have burdened Blagoevgrad.” This was stated at the meeting by the candidate for mayor of Blagoevgrad, Milan Bogdanski. According to him, the current administration of the municipality is not working on the issues of youth unemployment. “There is no program to stop the migration of young people. “Blagoevgrad is an academic city and over 20,000 students study there, but after completing their education, they go through Terminal 2,” he added. Bogdanski stated that the BSP should ensure that the voice of the people is heard by those in charge in the municipal administration. According to him, this can be done through joint work between the municipality, citizens, NGOs, students, employer organizations and others. “I will create the conditions for such cooperation,” the socialist was categorical.
Before his meeting with the youth in Blagoevgrad, BSP chairman Mihail Mikov was in Kresna to support the mayoral candidate Nikolay Georgiev. Members and sympathizers of the BSP, as well as citizens of Kresna, attended the meeting at the club of the left in the city. There, Mikov stated that, both in the whole country and in this town, he would bet on integrity in the election campaign. According to him, the candidate for mayor Nikolay Georgiev is an extremely strong person and his candidacy worries the opponents in the municipality. In Kresna, the chairman of the left laid flowers at the monument to those who died in Kresna – the Razlog Uprising.
In Sopot, football legend Rumen Ivanov expressed his support for the candidate for mayor of the city, Deyan Doinov. The two discussed the possibility of once again having a men’s football team in the city.
“From the new mayor of the municipality of Sopot, I expect understanding and support, and I will be especially happy if the promises turn into deeds,” declared the top football player from the recent past, and now coach Rumen Ivanov, and expressed his categorical support for Deyan Doinov. At a special meeting, the candidate for mayor of Sopot from the BSP and the prominent football player Rumen Ivanov discussed the possibility of having a men’s football team in the city of Vazov again. Doinov emphasized that as part of his pre-election program, there is the question of reviving the men’s football team in Sopot and he is glad that a specialist of Rumen’s class will consult him, introduce him to the problems and help him create the necessary conditions for this happened.
Rumen Ivanov forever remains in the hearts of Zapalyankov fans with his innate talent and sense of the game, which took him from his native “Metalik”-Sopot to “Botev”-Plovdiv and “Levski”-Sofia and confirmed him as a starter in the youth national team, on which he deservedly captains. The footballer played his strongest years on the pitches of Europe in teams in Switzerland and Germany. He is currently a football coach.
During the meeting, Ivanov expressed his opinion that if there were good working conditions for him and his team, he would gladly return to train in his native Sopot. The topic of why Sopot was left without a men’s football team was not overlooked by Dejan Doinov. According to prominent football figures and enthusiasts, there is only one reason and obstacle to having a men’s football team in Sopot, and it has a name – Veselin Lichev. The background begins at the beginning of the current mandate, when the mayor made a pre-election commitment to help the men’s football team of Sopot. But, as all Sopot residents are already aware, when Lichev got his hands on power, he immediately forgot what he had promised. That’s how it is in this particular case. Only two years after his re-election as mayor, with his inherent tendency to managerial pirouettes and dirty maneuvers, Lichev reneged on his promise, transferring the responsibility to people from the municipal administration. Disappointed and humiliated, the footballers from the men’s team, after suffering, find understanding and get a chance to continue playing their favorite sport in the neighboring municipality of Karlovy Vary. Although the conditions for development have been created in Karlovo, the athletes remain bitter that they cannot compete in their hometown for the team of their heart, “Metalik”. The footballers have not given up on their dream to defend the colors of their favorite team and to please the fans of Zapalyankov in the city of Vazov with their success. They have not stopped looking for support and understanding and they hope to find it in the person of a new, worthy, responsible and loving mayor of Sopot men’s football. By all accounts, it seems that since he set out to destroy the municipality, Lichev is doing it talentedly with a swing and on all fronts. Now the entire football community in the sub-Balkan city has their eyes on the candidate for the mayor of Sopot municipality and is asking themselves – will Deyan Doinov have the strength and courage to keep his word and help revive the men’s football team in the city of Vazov? If he does, the stadium in Sopot will come alive again, as Rumen Ivanov has the ambition, with the help of the new mayor of the municipality, to return the Sopot audience to the stadium. At the end of the meeting, Dejan Doinov categorically committed to having a men’s football team in Sopot again. After the local vote, the two will meet again to discuss the concrete steps and parameters to achieve the common goal.
