We are seriously considering exporting our surplus electricity production to Europe

The Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, said that his country is seriously considering exporting its surplus electricity production to Europe.

“The national electricity generation capacity stands at 25 gigawatts, of which the country consumes 17 gigawatts during peak demand periods,” Arkab told APS news agency.

Last February, Arkab announced that Algeria would increase its oil production to 992,000 bpd in March under the OPEC+ group deal.

Arkab stressed that the decision of the Russian-led Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its Allies to continue increasing monthly production by 400,000 barrels per day was due to the fact that the “Omicron” mutant had no impact on world economies.
