Radha Stirling, founder of “Detained in Dubai”, makes a statement after new pictures of Dubai’s missing princess have appeared.
– We are pleased to see that Latifa enjoys greater freedom and time in Europe with friends after what has been a three-year and complicated campaign. But a few pictures of Latifa do not end the case, says Radha Stirling in one statement.
Dubai’s Princess Latifa, who has been missing for a long time, appeared last month on two photos on Instagram.
The latest photo of her was posted on Instagram on Sunday night. It allegedly shows Princess Latifa with a friend in Madrid.
The caption reads: “A wonderful European holiday with Latifa. We have fun discovering new places ».
Allegation that she was held hostage
Princess Latifa al-Maktoum is the daughter of Dubai’s ruler Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. He is one of the richest men in the world and also the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates.
In February this year, the princess told in a mobile video that was allegedly smuggled out, and which was broadcast on the BBC, that she was held hostage by her father and that she feared for her life. Since then, no signs of life have come from her.
In a statement after the BBC showed the video, the royal family in Dubai claimed that Princess Latifa is being cared for by the family and health professionals.
– Can not sweep this illegal attack under the rug
It was in March 2018 that her father, ie ruler Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, and the Prime Minister of India coordinated an attack on a private, US-registered Yacht sailing in international waters with the aim of capturing Princess Latifa.
This act was carried out in violation of international law, maritime law, and is also in violation of both the United Arab Emirates and India’s obligations as an ally with the United States.
Stirling says that they will continue to work on shedding light on this.
The United Arab Emirates and India attacked a US yacht in international waters and kidnapped Latifa along with five foreign nationals, including a US citizen.
“The United Arab Emirates cannot sweep this illegal and unique attack under the rug,” she said in the statement.
