We are Cousins, We are Grandsons of Prophet Ibrahim

ABU DHABI – Prime Minister (PM) Naftali Bennett called for deepening relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The call was delivered on Monday (13/12/2021) in his first visit to the country as a leader of the Jewish state.

Bennett is scheduled to meet the leader de facto The UAE Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, known as MBZ, today for a one-on-one meeting, followed by a meeting and lunch with their advisers.

“The message I want to convey to UAE leaders and UAE citizens is that this reciprocal partnership and friendship is natural,” Bennett told UAE state media, YOU.

“We are neighbors and cousins. We are the grandchildren of Prophet Ibrahim,” continued Bennett Jerusalem Post.

Bennett called international relations a “precious treasure to us and the entire region” and that countries are doing their best to ensure a better future.

The Israeli PM also cited cooperation in trade, research and development, cybersecurity, health, education, aviation and others as ways in which relations have developed positively.

“I hope our relationship remains good, especially in the economic field. In my opinion, cooperation in the fields of health and food security will be a major part of mutual cooperation,” he said.

“The volume of mutual trade between us has accelerated in recent months with unlimited future opportunities to develop it…Our cooperation provides unprecedented economic opportunities not only for us, but for many more countries, which is an element of others to promote stability and prosperity in the region.”
