The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) is saddened and deeply concerned by developments in Ukraine after the Russian invasion. In an opinion published on the organisation’s official website on Friday, the IIHF Council condemned the use of military force and called for diplomatic means of resolving the conflict.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and the Ukrainian hockey family. We have a duty to take care of all the members, so the IIHF Council is assessing the implications of the conflict for our events. The meeting will take place late Monday, February 28,” iihf.com said. .
