A member of the Central Council of Hezbollah, Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, confirmed that “every day that passes in Lebanon without a president of the republic, the suffering of the Lebanese increases and the opportunities that the Lebanese pay in their economy and stability are lost.”
He underlined that “the group of the logic of challenge and confrontation has entered the country in a dark tunnel, from which there is no way out except by consensus, and as for those who await external mediation, they await the most distant solution , especially since these mediations are timid and still fail to produce a solution to the crisis of the election of a president for the republic”.
Sheikh Qaouk stressed that “Hezbollah does not depend on external mediation and requires internal consensus, because the agreement is the safest, shortest and fastest solution”.
He explained that “between Hezbollah and the international emergency forces there is a relationship of cooperation and coordination, and this relationship is stable and continuous, because Hezbollah respects resolution 1701”.
He said that “what Netanyahu fears most is the confrontation with Hezbollah, and this is the reason for his withdrawal from his threats to reject the demarcation agreement.”
