We all need real human relationships, not just virtual / Article / LSM.lv

In his address to Urbi et Orbi (“City and the World”), Pope Francis said that the message of Easter is a hope for all those who suffer from pandemics, job losses, military conflicts or other reasons. Only 150 believers took part in the Eucharistic celebrations at St. Peter’s Church in the Vatican this year, on the Vatican News site. –

Francis emphasized that society was still most affected by the pandemic, the social and economic crisis, which affected the poorest people the most, and military conflicts.

“We all need real human relationships, not just virtual ones,”

stressed Francis, adding that it is especially important at an age when character and personality are formed.

“There is still a lot of war and a lot of violence in the world!” he acknowledged and hoped to overcome the “war mentality” by delaying “all prisoners of conflict – especially in eastern Ukraine and Nagorno-Karabakh – to return to their families in good health”.

As the celebration of Easter is still severely restricted in many places this year and Christians are unable to participate in the liturgy, the Pope called for these and all restrictions on cult and religious freedom in the world to be lifted and for everyone to be allowed to pray and praise God freely.
