Honey and cinnamon are two natural ingredients that virtually everyone has in our homes. Both possess properties that when combined together create even more effective benefits for the body.
It should be noted that not everything that is said about the combination of sugar and cinnamon is scientifically proven. For example, some popular beliefs about the benefits of the mix against allergies, colds and acne treatment. Still, science doesn’t confirm the effectiveness of sugar and cinnamon for promoting weight loss and relieving arthritis pain or fighting bacterial infections in the gut.
The benefits
However, saying that the two ingredients improve health is true. Science points out that both, so both honey and cinnamon, can reduce the risk of heart disease.
According to experts, in fact, the consumption of honey lowers the so-called “bad” LDL cholesterol by 6-11% and lowers triglyceride levels by as much as 11%. In addition, honey can also raise “good” HDL cholesterol by about 2%.
While taking a dose of cinnamon a day lowers total cholesterol by an average of 16 mg / dl, LDL “bad” cholesterol by 9 mg / dl and triglycerides by 30 mg / dl. There was also a slight increase in “good” HDL cholesterol levels.
