Bin Qasim added, in an interview with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, that the infrastructure and real estate sectors represent an investment opportunity in the short term, but it will not be a “trend” for the coming years.

He explained that Investcorp real estate funds did not witness withdrawals from investors, given its experience in real estate investment for nearly 40 years, and it follows the confidence of investors from the Gulf and abroad.

The co-CEO continued, “Investcorp’s investment strategy in real estate achieved an attractive return for investors, ranging from 7 to 9% as a cash return, and 12 to 14% as a compound return.”

Hazem bin Qasim said that the assets under management at Investcorp amounted to $ 50 billion, and it aims to reach $ 100 billion.

He explained that the company invests in real estate in America, Europe, the Gulf states and India, and sees the importance of the logistics sector in the Gulf countries that enjoy economic, financial and political stability, as well as the logistics sector and the student housing sector in the United States, and the latter is enjoying positive growth in Europe and Britain.

He pointed out that the real estate, education, schools and logistics sectors in India are among the sectors that are enjoying growth, and Investcorp has made a lot of investments in the sector.

Bin Qasim said that Investcorp has about 40 years of experience in the Gulf and views the region positively, especially for investments in private companies, infrastructure and real estate. On the economic growth situation in the Gulf, it will open many areas that help growth in the warehouse sector, especially air-conditioned ones.
