New Year’s Eve, just before the bang: Bettina and Martin are locked up together in a bank branch due to a technical fault. At night, of all things, on New Year’s Eve, half an hour before the turn of the year. In the WDR film “Kurzschluss”, Anke Engelke and Matthias Brandt find themselves in this seemingly hopeless situation and try to get out of this unfortunate situation in time for the end of the year. Anke Engelke and Matthias Brandt are together for the first time in front of the camera for the 30-minute chamber show. The book is by Claudius Pläging and Max Bierhals, directed by Erik Haffner.
The chamber show “Kurzschluss” can be seen on December 30, 2022 from 5 pm in the ARD media library, and then at 11.30 pm in the premiere. The first shows the film again on December 31, 2022 at 7:30 pm, WDR television on New Year’s Eve at 4:10 pm.
“Kurzschluss” is a bildundtonfabrik production (executive production: Jule Everts, Philipp Käßbohrer, Matthias Murmann) commissioned by WDR for Das Erste (WDR editor: Leona Frommelt).
