WD has had 22TB internal hard drives in its portfolio since last summer. It offers them in the professional WD Gold, Red Pro and Purple Pro series. However, it has now incorporated them into its My Book and My Book Duo external storage units, making the latter the model with the highest capacity on the domestic market. For the time being, Lacie ends with the 2big Dock at a capacity of 36 TB.
Single disc model My Book uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface with USB-A connector. The maximum theoretical speed for sequential data transfer is 250 MB/s, which is the limit of the used platter disk. On the contrary My Book Duo it already includes a USB-C connector and, thanks to a pair of disks in hardware RAID 0, offers a speed of up to 360 MB/s. Most likely, the manufacturer used internal drives of the WD Red Pro series for both models. My Book Duo is also equipped with a pair of USB connectors for use as a hub.

Both external storages will offer hardware 256-bit encryption, which can be used after installing the WD Security control application. This is required to create an access key and then connect the volume.

Both models are available on the official e-shop for CZK 19,078 in the case of the My Book model a CZK 43,244 for My Book Duo. They will gradually be included in the offer of other e-shops, where the prices may vary.
