Wawrinka decided to test his form on two challengers in Prague after a long match break forced by coronavirus. Currently, the 17th player in the world wants to play before the clay season in Europe, he will miss the September US Open.

In the match of the second round with Safjullin, he quickly led 5: 0, until then the Russian player managed to keep the pass. However, he did not prevent a smooth loss in the first set. Also in the second set, Wawrinka was the first in the third game to receive the opponent’s service, but the former winner of the junior at the Australian Open immediately repaid him with the same coin. In the tenth game, the 23-year-old Russian showed another break and surprisingly picked up a set twelve years older favorite. However, the third set was again a clear matter for the Swiss star.
