The biggest favorite, Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland, advanced to the finals of the ATP tennis challenger on Prague clay. The three-time grand slam winner eliminated Michael Vrbenský’s last home representative in the semifinals after sets 5: 7, 6: 3 and 6: 3.
Wawrinka lost twice in the opening set, and the break in the eleventh game became fatal for the highest-stakes player. But then the twenty-year-old Czech talent, who owns the 402nd position in the world rankings, was not enough for the Swiss favorite.
The seventeenth player of the world ranking Wawrinka won the fourth match in three sets at the I. ČLTK Prague Open tournament. Vrbenský resisted him for almost two and a half hours.
In the final, the 35-year-old Swiss will face the conqueror Jiří Veselý Aslan Karacev. A nine-year-old Russian tennis player, who is in the middle of the third hundred in the ATP standings, defeated the third-placed Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert 7: 5, 7: 6.
