A wave of sympathy for 4-year-old Mitko. The boy is battling two serious cancers and needs expensive treatment abroad. After NOVA told its story, the family managed to raise over BGN 200,000 in less than 12 hours.
Mitko’s parents dream of being healthy and like other children. For two years now, however, he has been battling not one but two serious cancers. The hope for it is in Israel, and the price is $ 250,000.
The story of the 4-year-old boy from Yambol touched hundreds and in just a few hours the family managed to raise half the money.
“Until last night, our account was BGN 59,600, now it is 222,000. Immediately after the report, people started translating, all kinds of people, with all kinds of sums and continue to translate, for which we are very grateful,” said Father Dimitar Karadarev.
“We believe that he will recover, this is a step without which our dream cannot come true. Because it is a dream for him to be healthy “, says the mother Katya Karadareva.
An outstretched hand from the people returns hope to Mitko’s family.
“I want to thank all the people, no matter how much they helped us, to be alive and healthy,” Katya wished them.
“After people started translating, our hope grew and we are now confident that we will achieve Miti’s health and that he will be healthy and able to go to kindergarten,” his father said.
Mitko’s fate managed to unite everyone in his native Yambol. A charity auction has been going on for weeks.
“The total amount we raised was 15,050, which includes the invitations, the items we sold at the auction and the raffle,” explained Aglika Atanasova, co-organizer of a charity auction.
Among the donors is the local basketball club.
“We hope that with this act of ours we will ignite more people who can really overcome themselves and help a child in need,” said Stanislav Govedarov, Tundzha-Yambol basketball team.
The municipality of Yambol is also included in the aid for the 4-year-old boy. A little over BGN 200,000 separates Mitko from the ultimate goal – transplantation in Israel. And his family believes that with the help of people he will achieve his dream – Mitko to be healthy and play like other children.
