I could, however, have expressed it in a friendlier and more empathetic way. Mea culpa!” Said Watzke in an interview with “Bild On Sunday”. Two weeks ago, the 60-year-old had caused irritation during a joint appearance with North Rhine-Westphalia’s Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) in the “Sports Show” on the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic for football and refused financial aid for smaller clubs. “And honestly, we are also competitors.
