Watford has found a replacement for Ranieri, and Hodgson will take over

Just a day after Claudia Ranieri’s recall, Watford already has a new manager. The team will be taken in by the experienced Roy Hodgson, who finished on the Crystal Palace bench last season.

Hodgson and the old acquaintances return to the Hornets. One of his assistants will be Ray Lewington, who was the club’s manager between 2002 and 2005. Together with the 74-year-old coach, he has been forming a team since 2012, and together they led the English national team and the Crystal Palace selection.

Hodgson decided to leave the Eagles after the previous year, when he wanted to say goodbye to his coaching career. As you can see, however, he reconsidered his position and tried to save Watford. He crouches in the penultimate place in the Premier League and urgently needs to start winning.

Given Norwich’s improving performance and the strengthening of Newcastle, his position seems very difficult, the key may be the first duel after the national team break against Burnley. The Clarets are the only ones in the table still under the Hornets.

At the same time, Hodgson has had a number of much happier results. He was successful mainly in the north – twice he won the Swedish league with Halmstads, five times he repeated the same with Malmö and became the champion in Denmark in success with Copenhagen. With Inter and Fulham, he also made it to the UEFA Cup final, respectively. European League, also participated in two world championships and three European championships.
