This initiative aspires to improve water use, increase yields and strengthen farm resilience by focusing on reducing the water footprint.
This program is structured around five major axes: training, popularization, innovation, networking and the development of a digital platform. It will be adjusted to each region according to its particularities and constraints.
In a statement to the press, the general director of AgriEdge, Faissal Sehbaoui explained that this initiative will benefit professionals as well as students through a set of training activities in order to strengthen the skills and capacities of actors in the sector. agricultural.
With the support of the “Farming Innovation Program”, AgriEdge will mobilize 250 young people to develop innovative digital solutions that help farmers optimize irrigation on their plot, continued Mr. Sehbaoui.
Dwelling on the axis of networking, the entrepreneur specified that the objective consists of creating meeting platforms, scientific congresses “where we will have researchers, producers and also startupers to discuss and debate on the subject in connection with water governance at the agricultural farm level.
And added that a new digital platform called “Agwater Edge” has been developed to help farmers plan their production not just for one year but for several years, taking into account scenarios and simulations linked to the availability of water on his farm.
AgriEdge bridges the gap between agricultural stakeholders (farmers, cooperatives, agri-food companies, agro-suppliers, public decision-makers, Agritech start-ups), applied-innovative R&D and the latest technologies.
